I learned you can teach an old dog new tricks!
1. Change your breakfast – change your life.
2. Eating healthy doesn’t necessarily go hand in hand with weight loss.
3. Exercise and eating right do go hand in hand.
4. What is a carb – who knew.
5. White is right on a little black dress but not in your diet.
6. Eating balanced meals chases away the cravings gremlins.
7. Avoid “fat free” – it’s actually replaced with sugar.
8. Read, read, read ingredients on packaging before you buy.
9. When dining out stick to the principles of 20/10/30 – food is food wherever you are.
10. Never, never go out to eat “starving” – have a “snack” before you “attack.”
The biggest lesson that I have learned through the program is to be patient. Losing weight on this program can come quickly, but learning the information and understanding it takes time.
The time invested in learning about nutrition, making healthy choices and transforming my life has been a life-altering experience. I now know and feel the benefits of making nutrition and exercise a part of my day-to-day living. What started out as a program has become the rest of my life. It is not something that I could do for life, it is something I will do.
The first week of following Melissa’s instruction I noticed a huge difference, not only in my body reshaping but also in the energy I now felt. By the third week I was amazed at how my body now looked. People were coming up to me and saying how lean I looked. That was exactly what I had been looking for, and though weight was not my true motivator (although my scale did reflect my new changes) I have to be honest, that did excite me as well.
The bottom line is, whether you stick with the lifestyle 100% or not, you leave after the weeks of Melissa’s instruction fully aware and with the knowledge of how to address healthy eating, and how to incorporate it into your life at any time. I have never regretted taking the time to learn what Melissa had to teach, and in fact I have recommended the course often to friends who I know are struggling with their own issues. No one has ever been disappointed!

Then the program helped me change my already particular eating habits (lots of fresh fruit and vegetables, milk, whole grains, but almost no protein or fat) into balanced eating habits that brought in much more protein, a good amount of fat, and far fewer starches.
I stopped being hungry, stopped craving sugar and stopped having stomach aches. I used to eat a box of low-fat cookies every week – I just threw out a box of them that I bought last year and still had not finished. There is no question I can do this for life.
Now I know what works for me and how to put my diet in balance. I’ve had great results and have no desire to return to old habits and their consequences of stomach cramps and creeping weight gain regardless of my daily exercise routine.
The program also got me to love cooking again, because there are so many great ways to incorporate small amounts of cheese, or nuts, or cream into dishes to give them a ton of flavour and interest while balancing the fat.
As I started into the program with you, I immediately recognized the huge value of keeping the eating log. With your analysis of my habits and your gentle shifting of them this way and that, I learned quickly where my eating had been unbalanced. Weight loss came almost immediately once changes were made.
